Making absolutely no sense in the kind of way that makes absolutely perfect sense is one of Nile’s particular skills. I didn’t know it at the time (because, as always, I was desperately trying to keep to deadline and making the whole thing up as I went along) but the grabbing of the date caption turned out to be a little Chekhov’s Gun moment for something that happens in the big finale. Week 39: Sunday - Hold on. It’s still Sunday? That’s-
Nile: -not right.
Spooky: What are you looking at?
Nile: Time.
Spooky: Time?
Nile: Can’t you feel it? Time is moving… differently.
Spooky: It is?
Spooky: It doesn’t really feel any different.
Nile: You’re using the wrong set of senses.
Week 39: Sunday
Spooky: What do you-
Nile: Sssh.
Nile: There. See? It still says Sunday.
Spooky: I don’t… what is this thing?
Nile: It’s a date caption.
Week 39: Sunday
Spooky: Where did it come from?
Nile: From outside the panel border.
Spooky: The what?
Spooky: That’s… kind of difficult to explain, actually. But what matters, is that the caption should have changed by now.
Spooky: Wait. You’re saying… you’re saying it should be tomorrow already?
Nile: Sometime next week, actually.
Spooky: Uh-huh. You do realise that makes absolutely no sense at all, right?
