Yes, he probably should have. This week’s episode was the subject of the tutorial I wrote for Webcomics: Tools and Techniques for Digital Cartooning back in 2005. It’s a rather lovely snapshot of the comics scene of the time and contains some great tutorials from the good and the great of the webcomic world. Anyone wanting a detailed behind-the-scenes account of how an episode of the Nile Journals is put together should take a look.
49. Sunday Ad Infinitum ~ 11
Week 39: Sunday
What the-!? Where did Ignatz go?
Nile: See? Individual wacky adventures – I told you!
Spooky: Nile, if this is your fault…
Week 39: Sunday
Nile: Are you accusing me again? Why do you always assume these kinds of thing are my fault?
Spooky: Because they always are!
Nile: Only so far!
Nile: It’s at least feasible that one day something weird will happen for which I’m not to blame.
Nile: But does anyone ever consider that? Noooo!
Week 39: Sunday
Nile: Um… Spooky?
Nile: Spooky!?
Nile: Spooooky!?
Nile: Hmm. All things considered, I probably should have seen that coming.
Permission to borrow Nile’s line? (Screen 2, panel 2: “It’s at least feasible that one day something weird will happen for which I’m not to blame”) Just seems like a handy one to have in the inventory…
