69. Sunday Ad Infinitum ~ 31

Looking back at my word file full of unused Nile Journal dialogue, I see that I actually wrote a lot more exposition on this topic which mercifully never made it to the screen. Some of the cut dialogue is actually not that bad but still – unneeded exposition is unneeded exposition. Nile’s own view on such matters will become apparent in a couple of week’s time.

Transcript

Ignatz: I know it’s kind of hard to tell at the moment, so just so we’re clear?

Ignatz: This is my ‘serious’ face. Now what’s going on?

Spooky: Look, it’s not an easy thing to explain. It’s about… You see we’re…

Nile: It’s about the end of the story. Or rather, it’s about a story without an end.

Week 39: Sunday

Ignatz: Oh not this again!

Spooky: Okay, fine, forget the narrative stuff. Think of it as…

Nile: One long Sunday. Spiralling down into forever.

Week 39: Sunday

Nile: Hmm…

Ignatz: Okay.

Spooky: Okay? That made sense?

Ignatz: Not really. But it’s the kind of nonsense I can deal with.

Spooky: Well… good. I guess.

Ignatz: Now what does all that have to do with this guy being staked to the floor?
