A previous generation of artists might have asked what they could do to shock their audience.

But my audience is dead. What can shock the dead?
Not an empty frame, certainly.

While it might have been a step in the right direction, I see clearly now it wasn’t enough.

So my for my new work, I will simply… cease.

I will cease all action, I will cease all thought. And eventually… I will cease to be altogether.
