It was their water towers that fascinated him most of all.

It seemed like they were striving towards some ideal configuration. A perfect structure that existed, perhaps, just beyond the limits of their primitive artifice.
Trying and failing and trying again.
And again. And again.
They never seemed to tire of their endeavour.
And neither did he.
that’s deep, man.
I don’t know who designed them, but Bernd and Hilla Becher photographed plenty of them.
