Before anybody jumps in to declare that Tokyo is four syllables in Japanese, I’ll remind you that this is an English language haiku, and English metric laws don’t count long syllables as two short syllables; we can also choose to syllabify a consonantal glide if our stupid English tongues can’t handle its original incarnation. Your pedantry isn’t wanted here.
