In an exciting new development for the series, I present the grand reveal of the one thing no one ever expected to be possible: a robot with arms.

107. Farewell Kitty
Let’s hear what Past me had to say about this one:
“The thing I didn’t realise about doing a strip that’s twice as long, is that it actually takes twice as long to make. I’m stupid like that when it comes to the really obvious practical considerations of comicing. Anyway, this is the Bad Kitty’s farewell. Cats are difficult to write, since so many of the jokes have already been told. But for a character that grew out of a single New York subway punch line, I’m quite pleased with how he turned out.
Hmm… what’s that about a New York Subway punchline? Oh right – here’s Past me again from a couple of years previously:
“Hey look, a talking cat in a comic strip. Who’d ever think we’d live to see such a day? This strip arrived pretty much fully formed in my head while I was riding the subway in New York. That’s enough for me to justify a holiday in NY as tax-deductible for research purposes, right? Right?”
Oh what a scamp Past me was! He also didn’t actually have any pet cats when we was wrote Brain Fist. This is a flaw I have since somewhat over-corrected and I’ve had several of the little angels over the years, the largest and most demanding of which is currently lying on my keyboard “helping” me while I try and type these words.
4.2. Usefulness Was Implied
Cue The Dodecabots’ catchy 80’s intro theme! Yeah! Just feel those synths!
106. Dead Kings
Past me has really been on point lately – here’s the verbatim news post that accompanied this strip back in 2007:
“Lord knows where this week’s strip came from. It popped into my head while I was shopping in Tesco and singing ‘The Great Pretender’ (not an Elvis song, I know). Anyway, it means the Satellite Girl gets the last word in the regular series, which is kind of nice since she was the one who got the ball rolling in the first place. Next week: Violence beyond reason and the end of the way that was.”
4.1. Missing Parts
So in case you were wondering, the informational superstructure that underpins reality? Its basically just Tetris.
105. Funny?
Okay, so here’s the news post past me wrote about this strip back in 2007:
“This is the 105th Brain Fist strip, which is a milestone of sorts as it means every character in the series has had exactly 15 strips told about them. Next week one lucky character gets a sixteenth strip all to themselves (haven’t decided who yet) and then we’re into the final seven – a series of double-sized strips to see out the end of the series and bring a little closure to proceedings. Who lives? Who dies!? Find out soon!”
Thanks for building the hype, past me. Onward to the end times!
3.6. A Technicality
That tiny flash in panel two? That’s the last little bit of crime being removed from reality. It was mostly unpaid parking tickets.
104. Harem
A classic theological conundrum.
3.5. Mighty Warriors
All credit to my wife for coming up with “Apple Cyphers” as a drink name. Thanks, baby!
103. Sights Seen
It’s important to take pleasure in the little things. And also occasionally the larger explosions.
